Economic Crossbelt Sorting Technology

Principle of Discharging of the Mechanical Cross Belt Sorter

This sorter' s core piece is the patented, mechanical cross belt drive of the carriers. When the cross belt carrier with its consignment lying on top reaches the target assigned by the control system, a discharging flap unit is pneumatically brought into position either to the left or right in accordance to the transfer direction. Against this discharging flap unit the drive wheel scrolls underneath the cross belt carrier.

Thus the translation movement of the carrier is converted for the drive of the cross belt. Thereby no additional electrical power supply for the running cross belt carrier is necessary. The solution shown in chart one is effectively maintenance-free and reliable. This simple principle is used for both vertical and horizontal routing.
