The Coca-Cola Amatil Victorian Distribution Centre in Mentone, Australia, is purpose built and one of the most automated warehouses found anywhere in the Coca-Cola empire. It is fully automated with an Automatic Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS), stacker cranes, shuttle cart, monorail system, automated pallet wrappers, automated pallet conveyors and features 26,000 pallet positions.

The associated empties sorting plant at the Balingen GLZ is configured for daily throughputs of up to 120,000 crates. The 230 incline roller conveyors for slow-moving consumer goods with conveyor rollers supplied by Interroll are noticeable features of the 340 metre-long conveyor line.

The flow storage system is divided into two blocks, making optimal use of the full warehouse clearance of 7.500 mm, with a product by product arrangement of the pallets. In this way, the operators have rapid access to 1.088 articles in the two seasonal peaks.

Loeser in Germany bakes more than 1.3 billion cones and around 60 million wafers every year. Short term orders combined with the baking pecularities of the products require a high storage capacity. After production the wafers must store 2 to 6 weeks before they can be shipped.

The system comprises four storage levels, each with 14 flow storage lanes and 18 pallet places per lane for a total of 1,008 pallets.
The entry and crossway modules are equipped with full width roller tracks. Serviced exclusively by hand pallet trucks, the take-off module on storage level 1 is equipped with split roller tracks, while those on levels 2 to 4 have full width roller tracks.

Efficient distribution is critical for gaining cost advantages in a highly competitive market. The Danish Food discounter NETTO trusted a Interroll distribution center. High Density Dynamic Storage 3280 pallet positions and two vertical order picking levels were planned and supplied by Interroll. Each year this fully automated warehouse rotates 1.4 million pallets.

200 motor scooters are delivered daily to VESPA in Dierdorf, Germany. A three level space saving flow storage system organises 1620 motor scooters, securely lashed to special aluminium pallets.

The plant comprises 2 manufacturing cells, one for lids and one for tubs. Each cell includes two injection moulding machines and two portal robots. Once the components have been moulded, they are moved to an Interroll flow storage system with 968 pallet positions for 1200 x 1200 mm special pallets.
