Interroll Horizontal Crossbelt Sorters are characterised by their flexible, space utilising routing with curves which also conquer inclines and declines. Merges and
destinations can be arranged in various ways and be optimised to increase the system's performance. With an appropriate layout it is possible to create several sortation
areas with just one cycle.
The Interroll Horizontal Crossbelt Sorters are also ideally suited for operation in areas with reduced space. For example, two sorters with identical routes can be installed one
on top of the other to double the capacity.
Sample: Itella project Helsinki: 2 Sorters with 10.000/hour each, 14 induction lines, 530 destinations:

In contrast to vertical sorters, horizontal sorters can re-circulate goods which have either not been recognised by the bar code reader or which have not be discharged, since the
allocated destination was full.
